Copyright and GLAMs 101 and Q&A session
This workshop introduces attendees to the basics of copyright.

The workshop will include activities to encourage attendees to gain confidence in determining copyright duration for typical collection items and identifying likely copyright owners.

There will also be an introduction to Creative Commons licensing including a game of Creative Commons Release‘Em Poker to build attendees knowledge of the Creative Commons copyright license terms and how they might confidently use the CC licence suite.

Attendees can also participate in a question and answer session and sharing of experiences in dealing with copyright conundrums.

Digitisation 101
Practical and problem solving workshop on how to do basic digitisation and digital storage/archiving in small to medium sized GLAM sector institutions.

This workshop will go over basic equipment, techniques for different collection types, discussing resolutions and file formats. How to compromise for cost. How large scale archiving systems can be scaled down for use by small organisations and keeping the same basic logic/best practices in place.

Introduction to 3D scanning in partnership with New Zealand Micrographics Services will be included as part of the afternoon session.
