Jessica Moran is Leader of Digital Collections Services at the Alexander Turnbull Library, National Library of New Zealand. For the past few years the Digital Collections team has been experimenting with collecting a variety of social media content, including most recently through the Facebook Archives Project, which invites the public to donate their Facebook account archives to the Library. Jessica will discuss why the Library wants to collect Facebook and the opportunities and challenges social media offers for contemporary collecting.
